The place

Stonewall was built on limestone: the old quarry kilns still stand at the edge of town, now part of Quarry Park, where the flooded pits are used for swimming in summer and the trails for skiing in winter. Today it functions as a small Interlake town with its own main street and schools, close enough to Winnipeg that many households split the difference.
